Mrs. Donna J Jackson, 85, loving mother and grandmother, passed over to join her husband Mon, Jan 29, 2001, at her home near South Boardman.
Mrs. Jackson had been a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County and retired in 1978 from Kalkaska Memorial Health Center after 30 years as a lab and X-ray technician. She was a member of Bearl Lake Christian Church, the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Auxiliary and the Kalkaska County Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening and genealogy.
She was born in Crawford County on Jan 27, 1916, the daughter of George and Eva Benedict Kniss. She married Robert Jackson in Clare County on Apr 14, 1935. He preceded her in death on Sep 7, 1996.
Surviving are sons Fay (Edna) Jackson of Kalkaska, Clifford (Kay) Jackson of Gladstone, and Clesson (Mary) Jackson of Grand Rapids; daughters Roberta (Jerry) Bruinekool of Grand Rapids, Jeanne (Dick) Lee, Patricia (Will) Rodgers and Phyllis Jackson, all of Kalkaska, and Annabelle (Donald) Haviland of Rockford; brothers, Gordon (Mildred) Kniss, Boyd (Ruth) Kniss, and Dale (Ruth) Kniss, all of Kalkaska, Wayne (Beulah) Kniss of Gainesville, TX, and Daryl (Maxine) Kniss of Traverse City; 29 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter.
Funeral services were Feb 1 at Bear Lake Christian Church; Pastor David Rosenberg officiated. Burial was in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
