Donald H Bowes, 69, of Alden, died Fri, Oct 13, 2000, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Bowes was born in Detroit on Jul 22, 1931, the son of Arthur and Mercedes Snyder Bowes.
He resided in Waterford until five years ago, when he moved to Alden following his retirement from Pontiac Motors.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kalkaska, and enjoyed music and reading the Bible.
Surviving are sons Donald (Sherry) Bowes of Virginia, David (Marlene) Bows Sr. of Waterford, and Joseph Bowes of Rapid City; daughters Denise (Douglas) Ryba of Waterford and Dorothy (Kenneth) Nitzh of Rapid City; stepsons, Mike (Laura) Kelley of Livonia, Bill (Toni) Kelley of Burton, Jack (Sharon) Kelley of Millington, and Mark (Renee) Kelley of Waterford; stepdaughters, Sue (Bob) Groce of Burton and Sandy Kelley of Waterford; brothers James Bowes of Virginia, Robert Bowes of Walled Lake, and Bill Bowes of California; sister Margaret Wangen of Ohio; his former wife, Virginia Flores of Alden; 27 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Bowes, his parents, and brother Arthur Bowes.
Funeral services were Oct 16, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Additional funeral services were Oct 17 at the Elton Black & Son Funeral Home in Union Lake Rev. Leland Lloyd officiated at both services. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, White Lake.
