Donald E. Story, 71, of Fife Lake, died Oct 8, 1999, at his residence.
Mr. Story lived in Burton until moving to Fife Lake in 1985. He retired from General Motors following 28.5 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of American Legion Post 219. He was a loving father and enjoyed his family.
Born in Flit on Jun 15, 1928, he is the son of George and Erma Raichart Story. On Jul 26, 1965, in Fife Lake, he married Joan Shands who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by children Wayne (Carol) Shands of Swartz Creek, Dana Hartl of Kalkaska, Bill (Kathy) Gardner of Petoskey, and Janet Gardner of Flint; brothers Paul Story of Grand Blanc and Martin Story of Corunna; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Children Vickie and Stewart, three brothers, and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Oct 11 at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Pastor Scott Rhoades officiated. Burial was in Fife Lake Cemetery.
