Donald A. Bennett, 87, of Sandusky passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at McKenzie Health System, Sandusky.

He was born March 25, 1933 in Elk Township, MI to the late Bert and Hazel (Kiteley) Bennett. Don graduated from Sandusky High School with the Class of 1951. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Don married Bonnie M. Babcock on September 20, 1952 in Sandusky. He worked for Yale Rubber for 15 years  and for most of his life farmed on the family farm.

Don was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. He enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycle racing and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bonnie; three sons, Rick (Kathy) Bennett, David Bennett, Brent (Stacey) Bennett; two daughters, Jean Barr and Linda (Chris) Smith; 11 grandchildren, Becky Moses, Michelle (Steve) Pfaff, Alicia Lambson, James Bennett, Larson Bennett, Lex Bennett, Tricia (Kris) Pawlowski, Ryan Tarzwell, Eric (Erin) Barr, Trenten (Leslie) Barr, Tyler Smith; 12 great grandchildren, Markae, Taylor, Brandon, Carson, Justin, Alayna, Layne, Samantha, Ethan, Bennett, Nora, and Emery; his brother, Bruce Bennett; three sisters in law, Marjorie Bennett, Connie Bennett, and Virginia Wills; a brother in law, Lanny (Gundi) Babcock; and several nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his son, Dennis; three brothers, Orville, Wayne, and Ronald; sister, VernaBelle (George) Mumby; sister in law, Lucille Bennett; and brothers in law, Robert (Marion) Rich and Roy Wills.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, November 23, 2020 in Greenwood Cemetery, Sandusky with Reverend Chris Wolf officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
