Don H Casto, 71, of Mancelona, died Tue, Jan 2, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct 28, 1929 in Columbus, OH, to Oris and Henrietta Goodfleisch Casto. On Aug 27, 1976, in Mt Clemens, he married Margo Wozniak, who survives.
Don retired as a Staff Sgt First Class in the U.S. Army in 1978, following 22 years of service.
He resided in Southfield until 1988, when he moved to Kalkaska County.
He was a member of St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, St Joseph the Worker Council 7419 Knights of Columbus and a Fourth Degree Member of Grand Traverse Assembly, a life member of the American Legion and the DAV, and a member of USDR Association. He enjoyed nature and feeding wildlife.
Besides his wife, he is survived by sons Don and William, both of Ohio; daughters, Karen and Susan, both of Florida; his mother Henrietta Casto of Wisconsin; sisters, Sally of Wisconsin and Donna of Oregon; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan 6 at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Father Jim Holtz as celebrant. Burial with military rites was Jan 9 at Ft Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.
