Mr. Desmond J. Irvin of Newhope, Arkansas, died Saturday, December 26, 2009. Mr. Irvin was 76 years, 9 months, and 17 days old. He was the son of the late Robert and Nan (Andrews)Irvin. On the 2nd day of September, 1954, he married Phillis Ilene MOorman (she died: 27 Jun 2001). Mr. Irvin worked as a lead driver for General Motors in Marion(Grant County), Indiana.
Mr. Irvin was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; and a brother: Earl Irvin.
He is survived by his sons, James E. Irvin of Gaston, Indiana and Allen J. Irvin of Newhope, Arkansas; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister: Eunice Jackson of Newhope, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Liberty Cemetery in Newhope, Arkansas. Brother Raymond Dees, officiated the service.
