Desmond J. Connolly, 61, of Kalkaska, died Wed, Dec 18, 1991 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Connolly resided in East Detroit until one and a half years ago when he moved to Kalkaska. Prior to his retirement on Jul 1, 1990, he was employed for 27 years as a financial analyst at Ford Motor Company Heavy Truck Division. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and in 1990 was recognized by the State of Kentucky as a "Kentucky Colonel."
He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, and enjoyed golf.
Mr. Connolly was born in Brooklyn, NY on Oct 26, 1930 to Patrick and Marie Gallagher Connolly. On Jun 18, 1953, in East Detroit, he was married to Martha Paternoster who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son Brian Connolly of Sterling Heights; two daughters, Geraldine Roeser of Haslett, and Leslie Connolly of Holt; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sat, Dec 21, 1991, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Kalkaska. Father Patrick J. Barrett officiated. Burial was in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
The Rosary was recited Friday at the funeral home.
