Debra was born in Fairbanks, AK on Oct 7, 1952, daughter of the late Max and Cheryl (Giguere) Miller. Debra graduated from Kearsley High in 1970. She married Guy Courts on Oct 6, 1979 in Davison, MI. Debra worked for a short time at State Farm Insurance and as a legal aid secretary, but her true love was her career as a Title One Teachers Aid, working at Weston Elementary in the Kearsley School District. Her career was cut short by chronic illness, but she never let it interfere with her love of life or her love for the many children she helped.
Debra was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed nature and loved zoos. Nothing gave her more pleasure than policing her yard and garden on her John Deere lawn tractor.
Debra is survived by her husband, Guy; son, Guy D. Courts II (girlfriend, Cassidy Smith); step son, Todd A. Courts; step daughter, Amanda (Kevin) Hecht; brother, Jim Miller; sister, Linda (Larry) Gembel; sister in law, Rebecca Joseph; grandchildren, Lance Courts and Brett Courts; nephews, Matthew Miller, Jack Miller, Christopher Gembel, John Joseph; niece, Jennifer Gembel; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many great friends.
She was preceded in death by sister in law, Kelly J. Miller; in laws, Dean and Theresa Courts.
