David Hildebrand Sr. passed away recently, at home in Mancelona, while mowing his lawn.
He was born to Stephan Louis Hildebrand and Anna (Mayberry) Hildebrand in St. Louis, MO.
David was the youngest of seven children.
He retired from Gus's Pretzel in St Louis.
December through March, David stayed in Missouri with his nephews, Joe Eckert (Dawn).
David loved hunting, fishing, trapping, and building things with his hands, in addition to watching the wildlife and going to the casino.
He found joy in growing things, helping those in need and just being outdoors.
He was a wonderful father and husband, always providing for his family, his friends, and even for strangers in need.
David was a warm and loving man with a kind soul. He always had a smile on his face, no matter what was going on. He will be missed by all.
David leaves behind his wife, and sons, David Hildebrand Jr, Steven Hildebrand, and Edward Hildebrand. Additionally he is survived by brothers and sisters, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
David's family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Stacy Vallintine and Mark and Mourine Robins for their loving effort to help David in his last moments on earth.
