Pfc. David C. Schultz, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Schultz, 1338 Gillett St, was killed May 4 in Vietnam where he has been since Feb. 28.
Details on his death were not availabe today.
Pfs. Schultz was born Mar 1946, in Port Huron.
He was graduated by Port Huron High School in 1964 and attended St Clair County Community College.
He entered the Army Sep 13, 1967, took basic training at Fort Knox, KY, and an advanced training course at Fort McClellan, AL.
Pfc. Schultz was an employee of Mueller Brass Co. before he entered service.
He is survived by his parents; a sister, Pamela J Schultz, Port Huron; grandmothers, Mrs. Cora Chadwick and Mrs. Martha Schultz, both of Croswell; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Schultz lettered in basketball and tennis at Port Huron Junior College.
He was a guard on the JC team which won the Michigan Junior College Conference basketball title in 1964-65, and shared the title with Alpena Community College in 1965-66.
He also won the No. 3 singles player for the Skippers net team for two seasons and helped the Skippers finish second in the conference tournament in 1965.
He also won varsity letters in tennis and basketball at Port Huron High, graduating in 1964.
The remains will be sent to Arthur Smith Funeral Home.
