David A. Standen, 51, died unexpectedly at his home in Hyde Park, NY, on Sep 28.
Born on Apr 19, 1958, in Detroit, David was the beloved son of Jack & Irene (Sorenson) Standen.
David's family moved from Detroit to Kalkaska in Dec 1972. He graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1976.
Shortly after graduation, David moved to Hyde Park, where he has lived for the past 30 years.
He was employed at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park.
David is survived by his parents, Jack R. and Irene L Standen of Kalkaska.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Laura M Standen, and her companion, Michael Olsen, of Indian River, MI; his brother, Paul S. Standen, and his companion, Lisa Lumetta, of Kalkaska; his sister, Amy L (Standen) Lesinger of Elwell, MI; and nephews, Robert J Standen of Kalkaska and Jack S Lesinger of Elwell.
Many aunts, uncles, lots of cousins and a wealth of friends from far and wide will miss David.
He was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
