Darrell Street died Sep 13, 2008, in Gresham following a battle with lymphoma. He was 61 years old. AT his request no services were held.
Born Apr 17, 1947, in Seattle, he grew up in Richland, WA. His family later returned to Seattle where he graduated from Shorecrest High School. He graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in economics in 1969. He was a reserve officer in the US Army.
In the 1970s he lived on the East Coast where he worked managing Navy aircraft maintenance facilities. In the late 1970s, he returned to the Northwest. Darrell moved to the Portland area in 1981 and drove for Greyhound Bus Lines.
He married Kathleen Dziewiontkoski in Sep 1983 in Portland. In the mid 1980s he began working in computer programming and continued until his retirement in 2003. He worked at the Washington State Treasurer, City of Gresham, City of Portland, Schnitzer Steel Industries, and the last several years as an independent contract programmer.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of Gresham; mother, Gladys Gray of Palm Springs, CA; and sister, Janene Street of Seattle.
