Daniel W. Sterken, aged 50, of Mecosta, passed away at his home on Wed, Jan 2, 2002. Daniel was born May 5, 1951 in Grand Rapids, the son of Howard and Clara (Moon) Sterken. He was a cosmetologist, owning The Hair Charm Salon in Belding for a time. Daniel is survived by his father and stepmother, Howard and Geraldine Sterken of Rapid City; one sister, Linda (Steven) Zank of Marne; one stepsister, Jill Sterken of Rockford; his paternal grandmother, Clara Sterken of Kentwood; two nephews and one niece, Jeff (Missy) Sterken of Bailey, Jim Rice of Grand Rapids, and Wendy (Joe) Christopher of Walker, and their families and his very dear friend, Mike Dean, of Mecosta; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his mother Clara Sterken; paternal grandfather, Loren Moon; and maternal grandmother, Beulah Warner. By Daniel’s request, a private family service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to remember him may consider donations in his name to Hospice of MI. Oak Grove Cremation Center is in charge of funeral arrangements.
