Daniel Martin Taylor, 69, entered his eternal reward in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008.
Dan was born July 22, 1939, to Francis A. (Pete) and Mary Grace (Weber) Taylor in Traverse City, where he attended St. Francis High School. Dan, or “Zach” as he was known to many of his friends, played football at SF, and was a part of the undefeated team in 1956.
Dan was a 50-year member of the IBEW, working for Davis Electric for many years and later for Alpine Electric. He wired many of the hospital buildings in northern Michigan, as well as several other large commercial projects throughout his career.
Dan was an avid outdoors man and loved gardening. He could tell a good hunting or fishing story as well as anyone, and told them with so much gusto and detail that the listener felt a part of the adventure.
Dan is survived by his sisters, Phyllis (Dick) Gertz and Carol Ketner; his brother, Larry (Noreen) Taylor; his sons, Kerry (Diane) of South Boardman, Craig Taylor of Pleasanton, Calif., and C.J. Taylor of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and the lights of his life, his grandchildren, Andrea of Dublin, Calif., Dan of Grand Rapids and Bob Taylor at home; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Taylor; his brother-in-law, David Ketner; and nephew, Rick Gertz.
