Colleen Mildred (Revell) Heuser, 87, daughter of Janet L and Donald H Revell, Sr born in Hagerstown, MD went to be with her Heavenly Father on Fri, Jan 15, 2016. Colleen’s father was transferred to Burlington, NC in 1942, then to Uniontown, PA in 1943. On Jun 6, 1944 the family arrived in Louisville, KY. Colleen graduated from JM Atherton High School and the University of Louisville. In 1965, her husband James E. Heuser was transferred to Richmond, VA.
During her residence in Richmond, Colleen served as Membership Director of the Brighton Green Community Association, President of the Brighton Green Garden Club, as well as Exhibit Chairman, Horticultural and Conservation Chairman. She was a blue ribbon horticulturist and a blue ribbon exhibitor. Colleen also served as President of the Brighton Green Homemakers Club and the Cloverleaf Mall Walkers.
Colleen won an essay contest conducted by a department store with branches throughout Virginia and into North Carolina, on “Why I Would Like to Carry the Olympic Torch.” She carried the torch in the Fairfax, VA area.
Since her return to Louisville, Colleen was a tutor at Field Elementary for 7 years, a member of the Frankly Scarley Red Hats and a member of the Classy Seniors of Springdale Presbyterian Church, where she was a member.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and one brother, Alan E. Revell.
She is survived by her sons, James Craig Heuser (Laurie) of Naples, FL, Alan Wayne Heuser (Michelle) of Pearland, TX; granddaughters, Juile Myers (Gary) of Orange Park, FL, Susan Heuser of Cary, NC, Carolyn Powell (Luke) of Mechanicsville, VA, Audrey Heuser and Alaina Heuser of Pearland, TX; step grandson, Nathan Neilsen of Apple Valley, MN and step granddaughter, Andrea Neilsen of St. Paul, MN; great grandchildren, Logan, Graham, Eleanor, Judson and Marshall Myers of Orange Park, FL and Landon and Parker Powell of Mechanicsville, VA; brothers, Donald H Revell, Jr (Susan), Richard A Revell (Peggy), and Edwin A. Revell (Jeanette); and sister in law, Shirley Revell all of Louisville and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Mon, Jan 18, 2016 at Springdale Presbyterian Church 7812 Brownsboro Rd. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
