Cody Wayne Hayden, 42, of Rapid City, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wed, Oct 6, 2010. He was born on Sep 25, 1968 in Mishawaka, IN.
Cody married his soul mate, Malinda, on Mar 5, 2003 in Kalkaska. Together they were raising three wonderful children. He was extremely proud of his children and all of their many accomplishments.
In his own words he once explained what his family meant to him, saying, "My meaning...My life. What a blessing."
Cody served his country in the US Navy from 1986 to 1988. He was the owner and operator of Wave Communications LLC. Cody was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was an avid golfer and loved hunting, fishing, and boating. He enjoyed riding his Harley and was a video game enthusiast. Cody loved spending time with his wife and children and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Malinda; his children, Nathan Cody Hayden, Alexis Kennedi Hadyen, and Hunter Michael Hayden; his parents, Mary Lynn and Robert L Kurtz of Fountain; his siblings, Troy Raymond (Renee) Kurtz of Spring Lake, Isaac Moore (Caroline) Hayden of Jacksonville, FL, Star Ann (Marc Sullivan) Hayden of South Lyon, and Kirsten Lynn (Stanton Jr) Fisk of Allegan; Nancy and Mike Fitzgerald (parental in laws) of Rapid City; brother in law, Mike (Sara) Fitzgerald of Rapid City; and his nieces and nephews, Daniel, Rosalba, Sydney, Haley, Lucas, Emily, Derek, Victoria, PReston, Kilee, Charlie, Cassie, Brooke, Paige, and Devon.
Visitation for Cody will be held on Sat, Oct 9, 2010 from 12 to 4 pm at the Calvary Baptist Church in Kalkaska and Sun from 1 to 2 pm. The funeral will be held on Sun at 2 pm at the church with Pastor Matt Moser officiating. Following the funeral there will be a dinner at the Moose Lodge in Kalkaska.
