Clyde P Simmons, 86, passed away on Apr 1, 2004, after a brief illness.
Born in Paint Bank, VA, Clyde had resided in Akron since 1945. He served in the US Army during WWII, and was employed with B.F. Goodrich, retiring in 1982 with 37 years of service.
Preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Ginny in 2001; brothers, Berlin and Howard; and sister, Nadine, he is survived by his son, Jim (Claudia); grandchildren, Erin and Michael, all of Suffield; brother, Robert (Carolyn) of Maryland; beloved pet and companion, Lucky; and other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral service is Mon, 10 am at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd, Akron, with Rev. Earl F. Roberts officiating. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by Mogadore VFW Post 8487. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, 5 to 7 pm.
