Clayton Elon Farnsworth Jr., 81, of Kalkaska and a winter resident of Holiday, FL, died Sun afternoon on Sep 17, 2006 at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born May 12, 1925, in Detroit, he was the son of the late Clayton Elon Sr. and Helen (Ryor) Farnsworth.
Clayton proudly served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged from the US Marine Corps.
A former resident of Flint and Clio, Clayton was a carpenter for eight years while completing his college degree. He taught elementary science and later retired after 28 years of teaching.
He loved golfing, especially with his buddy Ken Deater. But most of all, he loved Jesus. Clayton was a member of the New Hope Community Church in Williamsburg.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth of Kalkaska; sons, Daniel Farnswroth of San Antonio, TX, and Clayton Elon (Jane) Farnsworth III of Tucson, AZ; grandchidlren, Sarah, Brandon, Derek, and Chad; and great grandchidlren, Austin and Katelyn.
Private family services will be held with the Rev. David Standfest officiating.
Arrangements were made with the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
