Clara Taylor Orzolek, 87, of Tallmadge, OH, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Tue, Jul 9, 2002, at Akron General Medical Center.
She was born May 18, 1915, in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Charles W. and Bessie Stevenson Taylor. She was retired from the former Stone & Thomas of Wheeling, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catholic Women’s Club, V.F.W. Post 3613 Auxiliary, and American Legion Post 38 Auxiliary, all of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Orzolek; sons, Donald E. and Eugene Ostrander; daughter-in-law, Mary Ostrander; granddaughter, Donna Ostrander Hendershot; brother, Charles W. Taylor; and sister, Betty Ralbusky. Surviving are son, Alfred L. (Wanda) Ostrander of Munroe Falls, OH; sister, Dorothy Prenzio of Ravenna; 13 grandchildren, including Michael Lee (Patty) Ostrander, Mark Alfred (Lorna) Ostrander, Howard Eugene Ostrander Jr, Richard Roland, Jeannie Ostrander, Robert (Dawn) Ostrander, Karrie Sue, (Shannon) Smart, Brent Ostrander, Matthew Ostrander, Donald E. Ostrander Jr, Richard Ostrander, Joyce (Richard) Dawkins, and Clara Gale (Roy) Ashcroft; 15 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated Saturday Jul 13, 2002, at 10 am, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Martins Ferry, with Rev. Thomas Margary officiating. Burial follows at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Martins Ferry. Rosary devotions will be recited Friday at 3 pm followed by wake services at 7:30 pm, both at the funeral home.
