Clara C. Miller, 80, of South Boardman, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 26, 2003, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

She was born Oct. 19, 1922, in Lake Orion, the daughter of Ray and Lena (Miller) Swain. Clara married Lee J. Miller July 3, 1958, in Pontiac. They were residents of South Boardman since 1969, moving from Pontiac.

Clara enjoyed visiting family, going to the casino, riding through the woods. She truly loved being “up north.” Clara loved her flowers, birds, her fat cat Spunky, and being with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

Clara is survived by her children, Patricia Ann (Glenn May) Miller of South Boardman, Gary (Dee) Young of Lapeer, Russell R. Young of Monroe, William E. (Loraine) Young of Silverwood, Christine K. (Timothy L.) Doval of Fairbanks, Alaska, Sandra L. (John) Hall of South Boardman and Karen S. (Clifford) McNamara of Kalkaska; her stepchildren, Glen Miller of South Boardman, Ray Miller of Grawn and Ivan Miller of Texas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, MaryRose Swain of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband , Lee on Oct. 28, 1981; her daughter, Janet L. Klann; two grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; three sisters and three brothers.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, July 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wolfe Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Boardman Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
