Christopher Brom “Dutch” Heystek of Montrose, age 57, died Sun, Feb 18, 2018 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor after a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Thu, Feb 22, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 pm until 8 pm and again on Thursday from 12 pm until the time of service at 1 pm.
Christopher was born Mar 14, 1960 in Flint, MI to Joseph and Joann (Dilsworth) Heystek. He graduated from Montrose Hill-McCloy High School in 1978. Christopher married Frances Clark on May 22, 1982 at Montrose United Methodist Church. He spent his whole life working at the family business, Heystek Contracting Inc. Christopher worked alongside his father and three brothers, and later with his sons and nephews. He was a member of Flying Aces R/C Club and Montrose Historical Society. Christopher enjoyed camping and being involved in the family business. He loved building and flying remote control airplanes and cooking.
Surviving are: wife, Fran; sons: Richard Heystek and Anthony (Johlyn Allard & son Landon) Heystek; mother, Joann Heystek; brothers, John (Nancy Hemingway) Heystek, Joe (Brenda) Heystek, and Bill Heystek; sister, Jayne (Kirk) Bachman; mother in law, Sharon Clark; aunt Jackie Stafford; sisters in law: Vondy (Cliff) Petiprin, Noni (Amy) Clark, Patty (Derek) Clark, one aunt, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. Heystek, and father in law, Richard R. Clark. Our sincerest thanks for all your thoughts and prayers through his battle.
