Christine E. DePew, 63, of Bellaire, died peacefully Sat, Jul 28, 2012 in Mancelona. She was born Jan 30, 1949 in Bay City, the daughter of Robert and Wilda (Suggitt) Clark.
Christine moved to the Bellaire area in 1988 and worked for 15 years at the Bellaire L & R True Value Hardware. After retiring she began to travel extensively, especially enjoying the Upper Peninsula. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She loved to spend time with them and share in all their adventures of life. Chris also enjoyed watching sports that her children and grandchildren participated in .
She is survived by her children: Roby (Julie) Goodwin of Bellaire, Scott (Cheryl) Goodwin of Traverse City, Katie (Kevin) Wilcox of Mancelona; grandchildren, Damon, Jackson, Tally, and Delaney Goodwin, Madison and Scotty Goodwin, Troy, Mason and Elly Wilcox; brothers Larry (Maryann) Clark, Wayne (Deb) Clark, and sister Sally Stricker, all of Grand Rapids; uncle, Oren (Phyllis) Suggitt of Rudyard; many nieces and nephews; significant other Rick DePew and his family; and her faithful companion Libby.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents and husband , Donald Goodwin.
The family will receive friends, Wed, Aug 1 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Private family services will be held at a later date.
