Charlotte Elma Hillard, age 88, of Adrian, died Sat, Apr 7, 2012, surrounded by her family and under the loving care of Lenawee Medical Facility and Hospice of Lenawee. She was born Aug 12, 1923 in Adrian, to Albert A. and Elma (Harwood) Cessna. She graduated from Sand Creek High School. On Jun 4, 1945, she married Richard Junior Hillard in Lyons, OH and he preceded her in death on Sept 17, 1980. Charlotte had been employed as the switchboard operator at Wacker Chemical for 25 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church. Her hobbies included spending time with her children and grandchildren, bowling, working with flowers, casino visits, and singing. She also enjoyed the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons, and the U of M and MSU Sports. Charlotte is survived by three sons, Gary (Shirley) Hillard of Morenci, Steve (Jay) Hillard of Grass Lake, and Michael (Paula) Hillard of Maumee; one daughter, Kathy Hillard of Adrian; son in law, Pat Larson of Jasper; a brother, Elwyn (Gertrude) Cessna of Brooklyn; 16 grandchildren, Shawn (Sarah) and Ryan Hillard, Josh (Katie) Hillard, Ben (Gail) Hillard, Lucas (Shannon) Hillard, Travis and Megan Gilshire, Monica (Geoff) Volpe, Brandi (Gary) Polmounter, Bryan (Kathleen) Blauvelt, Ross (Heather) Mominee, Maya Sabbagh, Lisa Larson Martinez, Lori (Brooks) Millar, Karissa (Oliver) Garza and Bradley Slusher; 22 geat grandchildren, Brandon and Allison Hillard, Isabella and Victoria Hillard, and Cole and Tate Hillard, Aarika, Elena, and Gabrial Martinez, Bishop York, Kayleigh and Cassidy Blauvelt, Samantha Swaney and Tori Polmounter, Tyler and Annabella Volpe, Grant and Harrison Garza, Brennan Hillard, Aidin, Zane, and Elias Mominee; and her special cat Sunny. In addition to her husband Richard, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Charlene Larson in 2008; and six sisters, Gertrude Iffland, Dorothea Beekel, Lois Hillard, Barbara Seagraves and Virginia Herr, and Frances Iffland. Funeral services for Charlotte will be held on Thu, Apr 12, 2012 at 11am at the Anderson Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Winstead officiating. Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wed from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home.
