Charles W. Sherman, 86, of Fife lake and Redford, died Sat, Oct 15, 1994, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mr. Sherman had been a resident of Kalkaska County since 1954. He was a police officer with the City of Detroit for 25 years, prior to his retirement in 1956 with the rank of Sgt. He was a member of the Detroit Police Officers Association, the Retired Detroit Police and Firefighters Association, the Kalkaska Moose Lodge, and a life member of Palestine Lodge No. 357 F. & A.M. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and forestry.
Mr. Sherman was born in Detroit on Jan 21, 1908, to Charles D. and Vanetta Flannery Sherman. He was married to Bernice Pinard in Detroit, who survives.
Also surviving are one brother, James Sherman of Fife Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Gladys Gardner and Leona Comfoot preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Tue, Oct 18, 1994, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Kim Hough pastor of the Garfield Country Church, officiate. Burial was in Garfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
