Charles Raymond Ogburn, Jr, 60 of Kalkaska, passed away on Sun, Oct 14, 2007, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
He was born in Oxnard, CA on Jun 21, 1947, to the late Charles and Eva (Manley) Ogburn. Charlie married Karen Lee Kropp on Paso Robles, CA on Jan 10, 1970.
Charlie was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Army. He worked in construction and retired in 2005. Together Charlie and Karen moved to Kalkaska from California to be with their only grandchild, Frankie. They worked on building strong family bonds which was important to Charlie, i.e., always gong to the 4th of July Celebrations which had to include fireworks. Charlie enjoyed traveling, working in his beautiful yard, and was a great "handy man."
Charlie is survived by his wife, Karen, of 37 years; his daughter in law, Sarah Husbands of Kalkaska; and his granddaughter, Frankie; his siblings, John Ogburn and Mary Clark, both of CA, Sarah Bulmer of AZ, and Ed (Karen) Ogburn of NM.
Preceding Charlie in death was his only son, Frank; and his sister, Amy Jane Ogburn.
Celebration of Life will be held on Thu, Oct 18 at 11 am at the home of Lon and Sandy Husbands.
