Charles R. Bliss Sr, 63, of Torch Lake, Clearwater Township, died Wed, Jan 27, 1999, at home.
Mr. Bliss was born Sep 20, 1935, in Flint, the son of Charles W. and Opal (Joslin) Bliss.
He retired in 1989 from General Motors of Saginaw, where he worked as a millwright for 36 years. He moved to Torch Lake from Sanford following retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On May 31, 1997, at Torch Lake, he married Florine E. Engelhardt, who survives.
Also surviving are children Charles R Jr (Dana) Bliss of Hope, Mark S (Nancy) Bliss of Gaylord, and Lucinda Ann "Cindy" Monroe of Saginaw; mother Opal E (George) Stadnika of Las Vegas and Saginaw; six grandchildren and his stepmother Anne Bliss of Bellaire.
Funeral services were Jan 29, at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes; Sr. Celine Goessl officiated. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke Catholic Church Memorial Building Fund, or to the American Cancer Society.
