Charles Jasper Norris, formerly of Hagerstown, died last night at Orrianna, PA, of cerebral hemorrhage. He was 61 years of age.
The husband of Mildred (Revell) Norris, the couple left Hagerstown 11 years ago, moving to Orrianna, where they ran a grocery store and rented cabins. He was a member of the WOW and the Cashtown Fire Co.
Surviving besides his wife are: daughter, Mrs. Charmil Beasley, Petersburg, VA; foster daughter, Mrs. James Howard, Fair Lawn, NJ; sisters, Mrs. Ira Stottlemyer, Mrs. Rosser Grogan, and Mrs. Charles Carter, Hagerstown, and Mrs. Marguerite Howlett, Williamsport; six grandchildren also survive.
The body may be viewed Thu at Peters Funeral Home, 321 Carlisle St, Gettysburg, PA, from 7pm until 8:30pm at which time services will be conducted by the Rev Alfred Gotwald. Burial will be made in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hagerstown, Fri afternoon at 2pm with the Rev. Dr. G. I Rider officiating.
