Charles D. Markle passed away on May 22, 2010 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Born on Jun 20, 1948 in Chicago, IL, he is the son of Charles R and Katherine (Sydello) Markle.
Charlie served in the US Army during the Vietnam war. He married Debbie Stanula on Jan 30, 1978 in Chicago. Together they moved to Kalkaska in 2006 from Alsip, IL. Charlie's hobbies included fishing, cooking, and raising Japanese butterfly koi. He was always involved in a building project and enjoyed animals and nature.
Surviving Charlie is his wife, Debbie of 32 years; his children, Joan M (Samuel) Vazquez, Katherine M (Cesar Palacios) Markle and Debroah M (Alberto) Sanchez, all of Kalkaska; his grandchildren, Alexsandra, MariaElena, Isac, Madeline, Emily, Charlie and Cesar; his mother, Katherine Markle of Joliet, IL; his sisters, Darlene Cochrane of Palos Park, IL, and Diane (Fred) Simon of Crest Hill, IL.
Preceding Charlie in death was his daughter, Amy Marie; and his father, Charles R. Markle.
The funeral service will be held on Tue, May 25, at 7 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home with visitation from 4 pm until time of service. Reverend Norman Dickson will be officiating from St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
