Charles Barry Dilsworth, age 83, of Grand Blanc, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Brookdale of Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, January 15, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday and 12 PM - 1 PM Friday at the funeral home.
He was born on July 5, 1932 in Flint, MI. Barry was the son of Ralph and Olive (Clapsaddle) Dilsworth and brother to Joann Heystek. He graduated from Flint Central High School and Western Michigan University. During his school days he enjoyed playing City baseball and basketball for Flint Central. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. After the service he married Joan Qualls who preceded him in death in 1977. They had four children together. He worked for General Motors at AC for 29 years and retired in 1992. In January 1979, he married Shirley (Behnke) Bremer. In 1986 they moved to Grand Blanc, MI. They enjoyed traveling together to visit their children who live from CA to PA. Barry will be remembered for all of his wonderful stories and memories that he loved to share with his family. Most recently, he enjoyed spending any time he could by watching and interacting with his grandchildren and great-granddaughters. They always brought a smile to his face.
Surviving are: his wife, Shirley; sister, Joann Heystek of Montrose; four children, Blake (Cindy) Dilsworth of CA, Craig (Tammy) Dilsworth of Swartz Creek, Bradley Dilsworth of Flint, and Beth Dilsworth, who preceded him in death in 2010; two step-children, Cheryl (Bremer) Cindric of Grand Banc and Brian (Eileen) Bremer of PA; four grandchildren, Allyson, Andrew, Carson and Bryce Dilsworth; four step-grandchildren, Rob (Sara) Cindric, Megan (Josh) Bouverette, Kerry and Micaelie Bremer; four step great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Emily Bouverette and Ashlyn and Ainsley Cindric.
