Charles A. Godley, was born in Novi, MI, Aug 15, 1835 and died at his home in Rogers at 7:45pm September 29, 1907, age 72 years, 1 month, and 13 days. He lived at the place of his birth until about 1875 when he moved to Kansas and remained there until May 1899 when he moved to Rogers where he has remained since. He served his country for about two years during the civil war and belonged to the 26th MI Infantry. In 1870, he was married to Miss Juliette Moon and to this union were born five children. His companion and all of the children survive the father to mourn his loss. Bro. Godley was a kind husband and a loving father. He loved his children and was much interested in their welfare. Especially about their souls interest. He was a noble Christian man. He was converted when quite young and joined the Methodist Episcopal church and was a faithful member until death.
