Hartford City Girl Dies of Injuries
HARTFORD CITY, Ind.-Miss Patty Parker, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Parker, died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, at the Blackford County Hospital of injuries suffered in a two-car accident late Friday night. She suffered a skull fracture, broken ribs, fractured leg and multiple bruises and abrasions.
Friends may call at the Baxter- Richman Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted at the mortuary at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Ralph Coleson, of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be made in the IOOF Cemetery.
Miss Parker, a freshman in the Hartford City High School, was an occupant of a car driven by Chester Townsend Jr., 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Townsend Sr., which crashed into an automobile driven by Jerry Swift, 18, son of Richard Swift, R.R. 1. The crash OC- curred on North Wabash Ave., in the northwest part of the city.
She is survived by her parents, two brothers, George Jr., 18, and Steven Joe, 7, and two sisters, Ladonna Nalene, 14, and Sheena Michalene Parker, all at home.
The accident occurred on the city corporate line. It is the first fatal accident in the county since December 25, 1957. If it occurred within the city limits, it will break a four-year non- fatality traffic record in the city.
