Carol A. Martin, age 60, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Fri, May 14, 1999. Carol was born on Aug 1, 1938, in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Forest and Dorothy (Askegard) Ringle. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Westphalia and Daughters of Isabella. She was a retired School Bus Driver from Pewamo-Westphalia Community Schools and was a graduate and fan of Michigan State University. She married Daniel Martin on May 2, 1959. She was preceded in death by her father, Forest Ringle. Surviving are her husband, Daniel Martin; children, Douglas, Jeffrey, Daniel (Marty Zuke), Laurie (Bill) Kemp, Diane (Kirk) Schaibly, and Sandra (Tad) Drake; 9 grandchildren; mother, Dorothy Ringle; brother, Robert (June) Ringle; sister, Linda (Alan) Schneider; brother and sister in law, Edward (Pat) Martin, Clara Twitchell, Susan (Jack) Miller, Mary (Larry) Smith; mother in law, Helen Wirth; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. William Ashbaugh at 2 pm Tue, May 18, 1999, at St Mary's Church, Westphalia, with Rite of Committal following at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 1301 E Grand River Ave. Portland, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Sunday and Monday and also at the St Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N Westphalia St, Westphalia, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm on Tue. The Rosaries will be prayed on Sunday at 3 and 8 pm and Monday at 3 and 8:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in memory of Carol A. Martin.
