Carl R. Birdsall Jr., 70, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Mar 27, 1999, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Birdsall resided in Plymouth until 1985, when he moved to Kalkaska. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and retired from Eastern Airlines following 32 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, golf, and especially his grandchildren.
Born in Cheboygan on Mar 12, 1929, he was the son of Carl R. and Mildred Wolcott Birdsall. On Nov 20, 1982, he married Wilma Birdsall, who survives.
Also surviving are sons Gary Birdsall of Las Vegas, Jeffrey Birdsall of South Lyon, John (Sandy) Birdsall of Wayne, and Brian (Michelle) Birdsall of Gaylord; daughters Debbie (Jim) Stout of Westland, Dodie (Steve) Hanis of Gaylord, and Kelly (Ron) Ramsey and Sue (Ray) Woodruff, both of Kalkaska; his father Carl Birdsall of Rapid City; brothers Frank Birdsall of East Jordan and Jack (Carolyn) Birdsall of Miami, FL; sisters Patricia Weesner of Mancelona, Rosalie (Phil) Mayer of Allons, TN, and Eudora Peck of Rapid City; 18 grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Brothers Verland and Robert Birdsall, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wed, Mar 31, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Rev. Scott Rhoades, pastor of New Life Assembly, will officiate.
