Carl Salsgiver, a long time resident of Twinsburg, passed away Fri, May 22, 2020 just shy of his 88th birthday.
Carl was a member of Twinsburg Fire Department from Aug 1971 until May 1982. As a dedicated volunteer firefighter, he paved the way for his son Denis, who also became a member two years later in 1973. Mr. Salsgiver served many years working in the Twinsburg Service Department.
Along with his son, Denis, he had two daughters, Denise (twin to Denis) and the late Debra McGowan. Carl was also preceded in death by his late wife, Gayle. Carl leaves behind a great legacy in five grandchildren, Tracy (John) Farmiloe, Steven (Dennis) McGowan, Tina (DJ) Stopperich, Daniel (Meghan) McGowan, Robert (Melissa) Salsgiver; seven great grandchildren, Devin, Andrew and Brayden Salsgiver, Heather and Samantha McGowan, Joshua Goetz and Jon Stopperich and four great great grandchildren, Julian, Faith, Daniel and jack; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The family requested donations be made in Carl’s name to Cleveland Clinic Hospice.
