Carl E. Swindlehurst, 73, of Ferndale, died Thursday morning, Oct 6, 1994, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Swindlehurst moved to Ferndale from Westwood, NJ in 1959. For the past 25 years he had spent his summers in the Bear Lake area of Kalkaska County. He retired from Burroughs Corporation in 1983, following 41 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member of the DAV, and immediate past president of the Bear Lake Township Improvement Association. His hobbies included golf and fishing.
Mr. Swindlehurst was born in Carbondale, PA on Jun 8, 1921, son of the late James and Agnes Wilce Sindlehurst. On Sep 11, 1943, in Carbondale, he was married to Marjorie Lambert who survives.
Also survivinga re three sons, Carl Swindlehurst of Baltimore, MD, Gary Swindlehurst of Oakland Township, and Gregg Swindlehurst of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Lynn McCabe of Commerce Township, and Karen Dunn of Bland, VA; one brother, James Swindlehurst of Jensen Beach, FL; one sisters, Lydia Lampmann of Ft. Washington, PA; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Sat. Oct 8, 1994, at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Royal Oak.
