Carl E. Sias, 76, of Mancelona died Sat, Dec 25, 1993, at Kalkaska Long Term Care.
Mr. Sias moved to Mancelona at the age of 3 and was raised in Mancelona. He then lived in Grand Rapids for 46 years, and in 1981 he moved back to Mancelona.
He retired from Dura Plating, where he was a supervisor. He enjoyed motor cycling, hunting, camping, and fishing.
On Dec 15, 1917, he was born in Springfield, IL, teh son of Ashley G. and Mary M. (Miller) Sias.
On Oct 24, 1936, he was united in marriage to L. Ruth Eckler in Kalkaska, and she survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Ruth M. Gajeski and her husband James of Grand Rapids; one son, Ivan C. Sias and his wife Cathy Harden Sias of Bellaire; four grandchildren, Terry Sias of Clayton, NJ, Beth Ann Arends and her husband Gerrit, Gregory Sias, and Julie Ann Prater, all of Grand Rapids; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Roy Sias of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Clifford, and Thomas.
Funeral services were held on Tue, Dec 28, at the Antrim Church of Christ with Pastor Mark McCool officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
