Carl Duane Davis, age 80, of Oscoda formerly of Owosso, passed away Thu, Apr 24, 2014. A private memorial service will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennigs-Lyons Chapel Prior to burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Carl was born in Brown City, MI on Nov 27, 1933, the son of Carl L. and Recil (Clapsaddle) Davis. The family moved to Owosso when Carl was young. He worked at the family business C.L. Davis and Sons House Moving. Carl took ownership of the family business in the early 1970’s. He later moved to FL and retired.
Carl married Yavonne Mixdorf on Aug 30, 1991. Carl and Yavonne moved to Oscoda in the fall of 2001 where they lived until his passing.
Carl was a life member of the Owosso Masonic Lodge #81 and was active in the Shriners until moving to FL.
He is survived by his wife Yavonne; children, Carl (Karen) Davis, Will (Sue) Davis, Tracy Davis, Shelly Davis and her partner Shirley Smith, Debby (Bill) Fleming, Mark Mixdorf; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Bill (Meiko) Davis; sister, Candy (Bob) Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn Francis; and step daughter, Ellen Christensen.
Memorials can be sent to Breast Cancer Research or Hartland Hospice.
