Bruce Lantzer, 72, of Kalkaska, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2003, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
He was born on August 13, 1931 in Kalkaska, the son of Jay and Marvel (Tanner) Lantzer.
Bruce graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1949.
He married E. Joyce Butler on Jun 17, 1955, in Old Mission. He was a veteran serving our country in the US Army.
Bruce worked for the Alaska Railroad during the 1950s. Bruce was known for his love of hunting and fishing, especially while in Alaska. He retired from Pipeline Welding in Dec 1993. He was a member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ since 1961.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 48 years; father, Jay Lantzer; children, Gary W. (Carol) Lantzer of St. Louis, MI; Dale A. (Kathy) Lantzer and Jeff L. (Din) Lantzer of Kalkaska; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings, R. Dale (Jeanne) Lantzer and Melba J. (Gary) Golden, all of Kalkaska, and Norma (Lyle) North of Coopersville.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Marvel Lantzer.
Visitation for family and friends was held Fri, August 29, from 5-9pm at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
A funeral service was held on Sat at 11am at the Kalkaska Church of Christ with Dan Johnson officiating.
Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
