Bruce E Newman died at the age of 70. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda. 

Bruce moved to Kalkaska as a child with his parents, Virgil and Dolly Newman. 

He graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1953. Bruce married his sweetheart Linda Bowden on Jun 2, 1956, and together they raised three children. He was a veteran serving our country in the US. Army from 1956 to 1959 and was stationed in Germany. 

Bruce worked for the Village of Kalkaska for 26 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed living and working in Kalkaska. Bruce spent his free time boating on Torch Lake and spending time with friends at the Moose Lodge. He loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Over the past few years Bruce had been battling heart problems, blood clots, diabetes, and prostate cancer. His battle stopped and he went to be with our Lord on Sun, Nov 14, 2004. 

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Linda; his children, Michael Bruce (Lanny) Newman, Su Ann Newman-Smith, and Cheryl Ann (Roger) Newman-Lohr; his grandchildren, Rachel Newman, Michael Newman, Carolyn Smith, Mitsy Smith, Bobby Snow, Billy Coy, Keven Lohr, Tabitha Lohr, and Brock Lohr; his great grandchildren, Colton Newman, Tamson Newman, Brian Barber, Christopher Leask, Colby Stanka, and Hannah Marie Newman. 

At Bruce's request, cremation has taken place. 

A memorial service will be held on Thu, Nov 18, at 2 pm at Wolfe Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. the Rev. Stanley Hayes will officiate. Inurnment will be at Garfield Township Cemetery.
