Beverly J. "Bev" Myers, 72, of Kalkaska, Michigan, formerly of Mancelona, died at Bortz Health Care Center of Traverse City on Thursday, September 9, 2010.
Born on May 25, 1938 in Detroit, she was a daughter of the late Roy Hooper and Eveline (Lacelle) Hooper.
Bev moved to the Mancelona area in the early 1960's and worked at several area restaurants, and Schuss Mountain. She eventually owned and operated 2 restaurants, one in Mancelona and one in Bellaire prior to her retirement. One of her proudest accomplishments was when she graduated Mancelona High School with her daughter.
Besides her parents, Bev was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianna Myers, a grandson Jeremiah School, a great grandson Ryley Gill, and 2 sisters Betty and Marilyn.
Survivors included her daughters: Deborah Gill, Tina Gilbert, Barbara Woodruff, Brenda Strait, Coco School, and Deanna Milligan.
According to her wishes, Bev was cremated. Committal prayers and inurnment will take place at Chapman Cemetery, Custer Twp, MI on Fri, Sep 24, 2010 at 11 am with Pastor Mark McCool of the Antrim Church of Christ officiating.
