Mrs. Betty J Battenfield, aged 72, of Croton Twp, Newyago died Fri, Oct 29, 2001 at Home of Hope, Grand Rapids. She married John "Red" Battenfield on Jul 17, 1948 in Fife Lake, MI and he preceded her in death on Oct 29, 1988. She was a Cook for Cozy Inn, Hardy Dam until her retirement. Survived by daughter, Terri and Buck VanderStolp of White Cloud, daughter, Peggy and Dennis DeRidder of Wyoming; son Douglas and Emilie Battenfield of Kentwood; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Donna and Ray Wilson of Fife Lake; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am from the McKinley Funeral Home-Newaygo Chapel, on Mon, Oct 22, 2001. Interment in Clark Cemetery, Fife Lake, MI. Visitation Sun evening 7 to 9 pm at chapel. Memorials: Fremont Area Foundation for Hospice of MI, Newaygo County or Lakeshore Lung Society, Newaygo County.
