Betty Jean Stacy, age 87, of Fife Lake, formerly of Brown City, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born on November 19, 1925 in Brown City to the late Russell and Mary (Clark) Clapsaddle. Betty married George Stacy on November 21, 1941. They were married almost 70 years when George passed away on July 5, 2011. Together Betty and George raised 5 children. They moved to Fife Lake from Brown City in 1977 after George retired. Betty enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and painting. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Betty will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Betty is survived by her devoted children, Carolyn Thomas of Carsonville, David (Leila) Stacy of Buckley, Stephen (Lorie) Stacy of Fife Lake, and Susan (Dale Mooring) Stacy of Fife Lake; her dear brother Zane (Hazel) Clapsaddle of Lake Orion; her loving sister Pauline Huffman of Fife Lake; her 13 cherished grandchildren; and her 16 precious great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; her son Russell who passed away in 1970; her brother Wayne Clapsaddle; her son-in-law, William Thomas who passed away in 2002; and her brother-in-law Donald Huffman. A funeral service honoring Betty and George will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 12:00 noon at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home.
Visitation will take place the 2 hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Boardman Township Cemetery in South Boardman. Arrangements were made by Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home, our family serving yours.
