Bessie V. Ericson, 88, a resident of Twin Lake, Mancelona, since 1945 died Tue, Aug 6, 1991 in Westland following an extended illness.
Mrs. Ericson was a homemaker, and she enjoyed baking, eating out, doing alterations, and she taught cooking classes. she was a member of the Mancelona United Methodist Church and the Ideal Rebekah Lodge No 180.
She was born in Crosswell on Sep 5, 1902 to William and Mary Smith.
She was married in Detroit in 1922 to Dew Ambrose, and he preceded her in death. Later she married Oscar Ericson, and he preceded her in death.
She is survive by one daughter, Barbara Cabe of Westland; 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one brother, Jack Smith of Port Huron; two sisters, Ethel Custer of Detroit and Mrs. Glenn (Mary Elisabeth) Whitmore of Orange County, FL.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, William Ambrose in 1938 and Joseph Ambrose in 1985, and two grandsons, Mark and Timothy.
Funeral services were held on Fri, Aug 9, at the Paullin Funeral Home in Mancelona with Rev. Timothy Graham officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
