Mrs. Bertha McCreedy, 89, of 989 Mechanic St, died at 12:30pm yesterday in the Rebel Nursing Home, Elyria, after a long illness.
Mrs. McCreedy was born in Camden on August 5, 1878. She lived her entire life in the communities of Oberlin, Camden and Grafton.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Walter Slattery, of Grafton; one son, Claude E. Love of Henderson, NV; three brothers, Orrie and Clayton Stanfield of Oberlin and Earl Stanfield of Lorain; three sisters, Mrs. Alla Reynolds in IA, Mrs. Mina Brill and Mrs. Eleanor Grundy of Oberlin; eight grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Mrs. McCreedy’s husband Frank, died in 1940.
The funeral service will be at 1:30pm tomorrow at the Russell D. Fulton Funeral Home with the Rev. W.L. Vernon, pastor of Belden Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Camden Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm today.
