Bernice LaCroix, 93, of The Villages, FL, died Sat, Apr 23, 2011. She was born Jun 23, 1917 in Detroit, MI.
She attended St Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, FL. She moved to The Villages from Bonita Springs, FL in 2001. She was a religious instructor and a member of the St Anthony Alter Guild, Mancelona, MI. She enjoyed cooking for her family, dancing, bar tending, playing cards, pool, traveling, swimming, and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Ronald) Kratzke, Bernadette (Kenton) Stradinger, and Mary Cook all of The Villages; sons Norman (Patricia) LaCroix of Flushing, MI, Dennis (Nancy) LaCroix of Charlevoix, Frederick (Susan) LaCroix of North Port, FL, and Gary (Janet) LaCroix of Summerfield, FL; sisters, Betty Dubay, and Nancy (Pete) of Ayers, GA; brothers, Harold Meldrum, Michael (Barbara) Meldrum, Teddy (Norene) Meldrum, and James Meldrum; 23 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Henry LaCroix, in 2007 and a granddaughter, Gabrielle in 2000.
Family and friends called at the Beyers Funeral Chapel, Lady Lake, FL, on Thu, Apr 28, 2011 from 5 to 7 pm with a wake service at 6:30 pm with Deacon Ron L Huillier officiating.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, FL on Fri, Apr 29 at 10 am with Father Ed Waters, Celebrant.
Interment took place at Lady Lake Cemetery.
