Funeral services were held Wed at 2pm from the Sandusky Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints for Ben H. Isles, 57, who died Sun in his Sandusky home, following a six month illness. Elder James C. Phillips pastor of the church officiated. Burial was made in Omard Cemetery, which was in charge of Elk Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Isles was born in Flynn Township, Sanilac County, Apr 23, 1891 and had been a resident of Sandusky for six years, being deputy sheriff in charge of the drivers license bureau. Previous to moving to Sandusky he had served Flynn township for 12 years as supervisor and 23 years as a member of the Omard school board. He was an ardent worker in Masonic circles and served as secretary-treasurer of Sanilac Chapter 146 R.A.M.; past president of the County Masonic Association and was a member of Elk Lodge F.A.M. 363, where he took an active part in the lodge work.
He married Nettie Morrison on Jun 23, 1913 in Sandusky and to this union was born two children. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nettie Isles, Sandusky; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Lobstein and Mrs. William Park, both of Brown City; one brother, John H. Isles, Flint; eight grandchildren.
