Beatrice Marie Long, 75, of Kalkaska, formerly of Mancelona, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center – L.T.C. She was born on February 14, 1934 in Mancelona to the late Jesse and Sarah (Lambert) Snyder.
Beatrice enjoyed movies, camping, fishing and boating. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and friends. Beatrice was a member of Catholic Human Services for 5 years. She will be deeply missed.
Beatrice is survived by her loving children, Robert Nichols of Kalkaska, Jerry (Arlene) Long of Kalkaska, Clarence (Virginia) Long of Kalkaska, Pearl (Wink) Pluff of Battle Creek, Esther (Allen) Rich of Battle Creek, Jim Long of Kalkaska, and Jerry Dale (Ella) Long of Cadillac; her dear sister Rose (John) Perkins of Kalkaska; 26 cherished grandchildren; and 3 precious great-grandchildren.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband Leslie J. Long; her sons, Fred "Bud" Long an Wendell Long; her brothers, Clifford Snyder, Buck Snyder, Bob Snyder, and Willard Snyder; and her sisters, Grace Sheriff and Stella Thornington.
Visitation for Beatrice will be held Sunday, March 8, 2009 from1-4 p.m. at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. The funeral will immediately follow with Pastor Tim Rich and Pastor Hector Vasquez of Bear Lake Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona in the spring.
