Barbara P. Babcock, 74, of Kalkaska, passed away at her home on Dec 25, 2010. She was born on May 28, 1936 in Acme to the late Ira E. and Ellen (Creighton) Bardwell.
Barbara was a mother of four children. When they were growing up, she was a den mother for her boys while they were in Cub Scouts and a Scout Leader for her daughter when she was in Girl Scouts. Barbara loved crocheting, embroidery, and ceramics. She was a great quilter and enjoyed making quilts for her children and grandchildren. Barbara is a past member of the Kalkaska Church of Christ.
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Gordon Babcock of Kalkaska, Rory (Darla) Babcock of Kalkaska, Ira (Karen) Babcock of Mancelona, and Taressa Babcock of Traverse City; eight cherished grandchildren; and nine precious great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Erva, Norma, and LaRoy.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were made by the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home.
