"A long, hard climb, but, oh, what a beautiful view!" Barbara Jean Golden, 79 passed away in her home on Fri, Sep 9, 2011. "Bobbie" or "Barb" was born Apr 18, 1932, and was well loved and respected by all who knew her, whether she was delivering their mail or serving up a hamburger basket.
Barbara retired from the US Postal Service in 1994, co owned the Golden Bird Drive in and Dairy Delight, worked at Bear Archery, and drove trucks for the US Army among many other things she did during her busy life. She loved traveling with family and friends, especially out west. She was an excellent cook and anyone dropping by for a visit was lucky to sit down to a delicious meal.
Barb is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clifford, and their son, Brian (Patricia) Golden; grandchildren, Cheri (Jeremy) Wilkinson, Michael and Dylan Golden; and great grandchildren, Makenzie, Madison, and Hunter. She is also survived by one brother, Robert (Nina) Curry of Fort Collins, CO; special niece, Debbie (David) Bird Swales; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, sister in law and brothers in law and dear lifelong friends.
Bobbie was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Eva Curry; brother, Art Jr; and sisters, Maxine "Mickey" TerHaar, Frances Thayer, and Ruth Ann Johnson.
