Myrtle A. Vallad, 92, of Kalkaska, died Thu, Sep 5, 1996 at Meadows of Grayling.
She moved to Kalkaska from Grayling in 1933. She was a member of the Peoples Church and a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Vallad was also a former member of the Kalkaska Library Board, the Kalkaska School Board, the Academea Club, and the Rotaryanns.
She was born on Aug 12, 1904, in Grayling to Henry and Lydia Cook Stephan. On Oct 13, 1923 in Crawford County she married Warren Vallad, who preceded her in death on Dec 7, 1988.
Surviving are one brother al Stephan of Grayling; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, Ross Vallad; one daughter Sara Anderson; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Sun, Sep 8, 1996 at the olfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Kar officiated. Burial was in Maple Forest Cemetery in Frederic. Memorials may be directed to the Peoples Church.
